Student visas and International Baccalaureate qualifications
Special provisions have been made for students who are planning on using International Baccalaureate qualifications in their application for a student visa. The UK Border Agency (UKBA) have confirmed that special provisions are being made because whilst students have received their results on 5 July 2011 they will not receive their award certificates in time to make their applications for visas.
Under the new provisions, where Tier 4 applicants have been offered course places on the basis of their International Baccalaureate results but do not have their certificates, they should include a print out from the UCAS or International Baccalaureate Office online checking service confirming their results. Students who have received the certificate should include this with their application.
The sponsoring organisation must also check, and confirm they have checked, students results online in their Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies.
