Pre-entry tuberculosis screening for more countries

More countries have been added to the UKBA's growing tuberculosis screening programme.

As detailed below, if you are applying for a visa to stay in the UK for longer than six months then you will need to submit the results of a your tuberculosis test along with your visa. The following countries are affected:

  • the Gambia - from 1 July 2013 for all long-stay applicants, and applicants for six-month fiancé(e) visas. For more information see the Gambia page of the UKBA website
  • Malawi - from 1 July 2013 for all long-stay applicants, and applicants for six-month fiancé(e) visas. For more information see the Malawi page of the UKBA website
