Payment methods for premium appointments in Glasgow and Cardiff

The payment methods accepted at the Glasgow and Cardiff public enquiry offices are changing for any customers using the premium same-day services.

The UK Border Agency (UKBA) will no longer employ cashiers at the Glasgow and Cardiff offices so from 25 July 2011 onwards there will only be three ways you can pay your application fee.

Payment in person by credit or debit card

The only way that you can pay your application fee on the day of appointment is by using a credit or debit card. You will have to fill out the ‘Payment details’ section using your card details and provide this when you arrive at the public enquiry office.

Your payment will not be processed on site. Instead it will be processed independently and a receipt, along with a unique reference number, will be faxed to the public enquiry office to confirm your successful payment.

Postal payment in advance

You can pay in advance by post using a banker’s draft, postal order, debit card or credit card. You cannot pay by cash.

The UKBA advise that you send your payment at least six days before your appointment. This is because they need time to process your payment and send out a unique payment reference number to you. You have to bring this number with you when you go to your appointment.

You must include the appropriate payment form with your payment, which you can download from the links below.  If you are applying under the point-based system with your dependants, you should download, complete and send both application forms.

Do not send your application form and supporting documents with your payment. These must be brought to your appointment, along with your payment confirmation letter, which contains your unique payment reference number.

Online payment - where applicable

If you are applying using any of forms SET(O), SET(M), FLR(O), FLR(M) or NTL then you can choose to pay online. You must pay at least 48 hours before your appointment.

Once you have made your payment online you will receive an electronic receipt which contains your unique payment reference number. You must bring this unique reference number to your appointment with you.

You can pay online through the UKBA website, here: Apply and pay online using form SET(O), SET(M), FLR(O), FLR(M) or NTL.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

If you have already paid your application fee (online or by post) and you need to reschedule your appointment, you will need to contact the UKBA immigration enquiry bureau.

If you cannot proceed with your premium service appointment at all after you have paid, you will need to contact the immigration enquiry bureau to arrange a refund. It can take up to 4 weeks for premium service refunds to be made.
