Learn about citizenship education in England

The Citizenship website provided by the Department for Children, Schools and Families provides resources and information about citizenship education. Much of this content will be interesting reading to anyone who wants to learn more about citizenship in England and Britain.

Citizenship is part of the national curriculum for the education of children in England.  The newly established Department for Children, Schools and Families (since 28 June 2007) provides an excellent online resource to support this aspect of the national curriculum.

The content of the site is primarily aimed at pupils, teachers and parents/school governors.  But much of the information will be of interest to anyone who wants to learn more about citizenship in Britain, and particularly, England.

On the site you will find a variety of resources looking at issues such as diversity, political participation and identity.  There are also links to a number of other useful websites.
